The mission of the Barton County Historical Society is preserve, exhibit, and research the history of Barton County, Kansas and to provide opportunities to share our rich history with visitors, and for generations to come.
 
 
 
Otis Community Library
Otis Community Library is open 16 hours a week, from 2:00 to 6:00 Monday through Wednesday and Friday. We are a community place to learn, gather ideas, read, and find out about new, interesting and unusual books and multimedia. A comfortable place to attend events or learn something new. A place where everyone is always welcome. Patrons can place holds on materials location in our library as well as any other library in the Central Kansas Library System through http:??pathfinder.catalog.ckls.org, using their Otis Community Library card. Then the materials can be picked up at the Library during open hours. Our librarian will be happy to assist in acquiring a car or checking out materials.

Central Kansas Partnership (CKP) has been building a vibrant culture of programs and grassroots efforts that promote health, wellness, and rural community prosperity. Our community coalition work dates back to 1991, with the development of Barton County LEAD (Leadership, Education, Action Against Drugs). In 2010, the Healthy Communities Coalition joined the Barton County Partnership to develop Central Kansas Partnership. The coalition now includes multiple task force initiatives that promote quality of life and build a prosperous community in Central Kansas. Simply put, we advocate for healthy, caring communities. Most importantly, WE ADVOCATE WITH YOU; common efforts foster the common good!

Barnard Library is vital to our local community. We provide out patrons with an atmosphere and tools where they can seek individual fulfillment through books, non-print material and up to date technology. We offer free WIFI, children's programming, summer reading programs, adult book club, books for all readers, copy and fax machine, local newspapers, obituaries, magazines, computers, and printers to use and more!

Kansas Wetlands Education Center
The Kansas Wetlands Education Center (KWEC) is a one-stop shop for every visit to Cheyenne Bottoms, a wetland of international importance, located about 10 miles NE of Great Bend. KWEC is a nature center operated by Fort Hays State University in cooperation with Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks. The facility features the Koch Wetlands Exhibit with interactive exhibits, a classroom with live animal exhibits, the Duane Shook Auditorium, and the Wetlands Gift Store. KWEC averages approximately 24,000 total contacts annually and conducts more than 700 environmental education programs. Admission is free! Let us be your hosts as you explore our wonderful wetlands! KWEC is open Monday through Saturday 9a.m. to 5p.m. and Sunday 1-5p.m. The Center is closed on Mondays from November 1 through March 31 and on major holidays.

Center For Counseling & Consultation
The Center for Counseling and Consultation is a certified community behavioral health center primarily serving Barton, Rice, and Stafford counties in central Kansas. Professionally trained personnel offer individual and group therapy, marriage and family counseling, community support and community based services, psychosocial rehabilitation, peer support, medication management, substance use treatment and care coordination. The 24/7 confidential crises line is 800-875-2544.
 
 
 
Clara Barton Hospital Foundation Inc
Clara Barton Medical Center (formerly Lutheran Hospital) has been caring for patients since opening its doors in 1950. The Foundation is focused on investing and raising funds to update medical equipment, aiding in the creation of innovative programs that meet the emerging needs of patients. Through the generosity of our supporters, several advances in medical equipment have been pivotal in allowing us to stay a current, state-of-the-art facility. The mission of the Clara Barton Hospital Foundation is to secure and to expend financial aid to Clara Barton Medical Center and to promote the general health and welfare of the public through the support of education, training, and research programs.
 
 
 
Eldercare Inc
ElderCare Inc. is dedicated to helping persons to maintain an optimum quality of life by offering services which allow them to remain in their homes and community with safety and dignity. ElderCare administers the Friendship Meals program in a 28-county area of southwest Kansas. Thirty seven participating communities serve meals five days per week. In this area, 35% of the meals served are delivered to homebound individuals and 65% are served to customers at community dining sites. ElderCare helps to provide Home Services to elderly Kansans. ElderCare Home Services are available in Barton, Pawnee, Stafford, Pratt, Edwards, and Ford Counties and work with many payers such as VA. Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurance, South West KS Area on aging, and private pay clients for needed services….
 
 
 
Rush County Nursing Home Society, Inc. d/b/a Locust Grove Village
Started in 1978, Locust Grove Village is the only full continuing care retirement community in a multi-county area. Services include an independent living apartment campus, assisted living, and skilled nursing center. We employee over 50 persons in a variety of job skills making us one of the larger employers in Rush County. As a not for profit organization, we are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors -- local persons making local decisions impacting local elders. Charlotte Rathke, Administrator has been with Locust Grove Village for nearly 20 years.

The Stafford County Health Care Foundation is dedicated to the continuance of quality health care in the Stafford County Area. In support of this commitment, the Foundation will strive for the advancement of health care; health promotion; health and medical education; research and welfare services; and support physician recruitment. SCHCF will promote the general health and welfare of the public and encourage, support and promote education, training and research programs.

Birthright of Great Bend
Our services are free, confidential, and available to any female regardless of age, race, religion, marital status or financial situation. We provide free pregnancy tests and maternity clothes to the mother. For the family we provide cribs, car seats, and pack-n-plays if available. As well as diapers, wipes, blankets, and crib sheets. We have additional clothing for older siblings like shoes, backpacks, plus more items. We provide friendship and support for our mothers and take the time to listen.
 
 
Barton County Emergency Aid Association
Purpose is to help Barton County residents with rent and utilitie. EA also assists the homeless and transients. In addition, EA helps fund travel expense with Volunteers in Action.

Engaging youth in high quality learning opportunities where they are and helping them THRIVE is what drives 4-H Youth Development programming! 4-H in Barton County includes 8 community clubs and forty project areas for youth to explore, learn, and grow with skills for a lifetime! Additionally, learning opportunities are provided through recreation centers and libraries, and through after-school and classroom enrichment programs. Join us for diverse opportunities all year long as 4-H helps youth connect, learn, serve, and lead.
