The mission of the Pawnee County Humane society, Inc. is to prevent suffering, neglect, abuse, and cruelty to animals through community awareness and education promoting responsible pet ownership and ending the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable animals in Pawnee County, KS.

At Golden Belt Humane Society, our mission is to provide a safe and caring environment for all the animals that come through our doors.
Many arrive as strays that are never claimed by their owner, owner surrenders, animal cruelty cases and sometimes transferred in from other animal welfare facilities. We strive to find loving forever homes for each animal that enters our shelter. Our team is made up of dedicated animal lovers who are passionate about providing the best care possible for the animals in our shelter. We work tirelessly to ensure that each animal receives the love and attention they deserve. This includes our Animal Control Officers, Kennel Technicians, and Volunteers. Adopting a pet from Golden Belt Humane Society is easy! Simply fill out our adoption application, meet with one of our adoption counselors, and then take your new furry friend home. Your donations during Giving Tuesday help keep our adoption fees affordable and cover the cost of vaccinations, monthly preventatives, bloodwork and microchipping.

The purpose of the Zoo Society is to support the Great Bend Brit Spaugh Zoo in its efforts to educate the public and care for animals.

Lada Paws Rescue is a non profit 501(c)(3) animal rescue organization located in Barton County.
We focus on rehoming animals in need throughout Kansas. We provide shelter and veterinary care. We pride ourselves on taking in difficult to place medical cases. We would love to help in the community more specifically with TNR work (Trap. Neuter. Release).

Founded in 1937, the Golden Belt Community Concert Association is a membership-based nonprofit organization with a rich heritage of providing diverse high-quality musical performances to its members in Barton County and the surrounding area. The association's vision is to enrich the cultural awareness and appreciation of the performing arts for everyone in the communities it serves.

The mission of BCHS is to preserve, exhibit and research the history of Barton County, Kansas and to provide opportunities to share our rich history with visitors, and for generations to come.

Barton Arts Movement (BAM)
Launched in 2021, Barton Arts Movement is a grassroots, volunteer-driven initiative to create community pride through public art in Barton County, Kansas and the surrounding area. We are always working behind the scenes, and invite you to get involved.

Whether that is participating of watching we want to be there for all members of the community young and old.

The mission is to maintain and operate a museum which displays to the public old barbed wire and related objects.
To observe and commemorate the history of barbed wire and its importance to the development of the Unites States and properly preserve its historical record. To make the public aware of the hardships the settlers of the Midwest experiences when the Great Plains were settled. To Educate the public on the environmental, economic, educational, social and political impacts of the barbed wire both historical and present today.

We provide nonjudgmental help and support to all pregnant girls and women. Free pregnancy test. maternity and baby clothes, children's clothes to size 14, winter coats, car seats, pack-n-plays. We have a lactation cupboard for nursing mothers with breast feeding supplies and breast pumps, breast feeding information. Letters with information for all new mothers.

The City of Hoisington launched a community endowment in early 2020. By working with the Golden Belt Community Foundation, the City was able to create the City of Hoisington Quality of Life Endowment Fund with an initial gift of $147,500. With your help and generosity, the current balance of the Endowment has grown to exceed $900,000. By collecting contributions from residents and community supporters, the founding donors hope to see the fund reach a target balance of one million dollars for this important fund. The community will continue to reinvest the earnings into the endowment until it reaches the $1 million threshold. Once the endowment reaches $1 million, the City hopes to invest the earnings into significant quality of life projects without touching the principal balance. By taking this approach, the endowment will grow into a sustainable source of funding for quality of life initiatives.

Forever Rush County is a county-wide NON-RESTRICTED endowment utilized to fund much-needed, impactful projects by Rush County non-profit organizations and entities. Non-restricted means the SKY IS THE LIMIT! This fund, BUILT by Rush Countians and other philanthropic individuals and families FOR RUSH COUNTY in 2021, will be available to future generations in perpetuity to make a lasting, positive impact! Let's keep building it- for the sake of Rush County's Future!

The Order of the Eastern Star members are dedicated women and men who sincerely reflect the spirit of fraternal love and the desire to work together for good. It gives them the opportunity to give a part of their time to many projects that benefit mankind. The Order's lessons are scriptural, its purposes are beneficent, and the teachings are moral.

Barnard Library is vital to our local community
We provide out patrons with an atmosphere and tools where they can seek individual fulfillment through books, non-print material and up to date technology. We offer free WIFI, children's programming, summer reading programs, adult book club, books for all readers, copy and fax machine, local newspapers, obituaries, magazines, computers, and printers to use and more!

The Bison library was established to provide for the educational, information, and recreational needs of the people in the community and the surrounding area.
The library's goal is to provide information and access to meet those needs. It supports and encourages life-long learning. It supports cooperation amount all types of libraries in the State of Kansas.

Through our commitment to dignity, respect, service, advocacy, hope and collaboration, we set ourselves apart by going beyond immediate needs. We not only provide essential services like infant adoption, pregnancy support, counseling, food and emergency assistance, housing, immigrant and refugee services and disaster response, but we also work tirelessly to empower individuals and families to create positive change in their lives. Through our commitment to advocacy, we actively address systemic issues that perpetuate poverty and injustice. Additionally, our emphasis on collaboration ensures that we work closely with volunteers, donors, and community partners to maximize the impact of our services and create a stronger and more supportive community.

CKP has been building a vibrant culture of programs and grassroot efforts that promote health, wellness, and rural community prosperity.
Our community coalition work dates back to 1991, with the development of Barton County LEAD (Leadership, Education, Action Against Drugs). In 2010, healthy Communities Coalition joined the Barton County Partnership to develop Central Kansas Partnership. The collation now includes multiple task force initiatives that promote quality of life and build a prosperous community in Central Kansas. Simply put, we advocate for healthy, caring communities. Most importantly, we ADVOCATE WITH YOU; common efforts foster the common good!

We provide breakfast and lunch Mon-Friday to those in need.
We also have a clothing and house hold goods shop called the Kingdom Kloset along with a Moments of Grace (MOG) that provide sonograms for free to women that are expecting. We have a sober living apartments and have now joined with Working Men in Christ (WMOC) to disciple men who have come out of prison.

Great Bend Commission on Aging
We offer many services for our Community. We have the General Public Transportation for the City of Great Bend. We had over 21,000 rides last year. We offer friendship meals for our community. We serve over 80,000 meals last year including meals on wheels. Our senior center is open daily for all activities. We have exercise classes, dominos, all different card games. The services and friendships are so important for our senior citizens and our community.

With the help of our local community, we provide access to families possibly experiencing low-income a convenient way to receive help budgeting by distribution of food. (Support our local families)

Barton County Master Gardeners Cottonwood Ext.
The Master Gardeners program is a KSU extensions program that trades classroom training for volunteer time in their respective communities. It consists of two parts: (1) a series of training classes (40-50 hours) covering all aspects of horticulture. (2) Various extension volunteer activities. After the first year, you must attend 8 hours of advances training and complete 20 hours of volunteer service each year. Examples of where we participate include hosting a summer garden tour, speaking to various groups, designing and working in public gardens and assisting at the Barton County Fair with the floriculture entries.

Dropping 22 is dedicated to helping veterans, first responders, the military community and their families reduce their risk of suicide and improve their mental health

The Ellinwood Commission on Aging oversees the Ellinwood Public Transportation.
We take appointments from 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday except on Holidays. We take residents who cannot drive to the grocery store, post office, bank, Walmart, doctor appointments in town or in Great Bend and Hoisington. We charge $2 round trip in Ellinwood, $10 to Great Bend and $20 to Hoisington and a $1 for each additional stop.

The Ellinwood Heritage Senior Center
The Ellinwood Heritage Senior Center is a welcoming and safe place for community seniors to gather for Friendship meals, cards, coffee, bingo, potluck meals, puzzles, and get information to live an independent and healthy life in their own home.

In 2023 Family Crises Center served 508 survivors of abuse.

Father Murphy was a wonderful man who touched many lives through his ministry in the church.
He guided many through his works in his parish, his community, and surrounding communities. After his passing in 2021, a group of individuals wanted to continue the legacy of such an inspirational person in their lives by honoring him for generations to come. The Father Murphy Foundation was developed to continue his charitable acts and to establish a memorial in his honor. The Father Murphy Park is the first project of the foundation. The park will be built in his honor in Olmitz, KS to allow for those to join in fellowship and fun while remembering the legacy of one of the greatest. The Foundation will also continue to support youth and members of the communities he served through charitable acts. As he always said "God is good and has a good mother" Have a blessed day!

The Victory Garden

Larned Collection Center for Orphan Grain Train
A non-profit collections center for clothing, medical and some misc. items for the Orphan Grain Train, which distributes world wide wherever there is a need. However, we will provide these items to anyone in our community first if there is a need.

At Great Bend Economic Development (GBED), our mission is to foster long-term economic vitality and prosperity in Barton County.
We are dedicated to enhancing the community's overall quality of life by focusing on the retention, expansion, and attraction of businesses that drive property value growth, increase personal income, and contribute positively to the region's economic landscape. Most specifically, our organization exists to carry out large community impact projects such as our upcoming downtown enhancement plan and out IGNITE Innovation Center. Donor funds will go to helping us make these projects take flight in Barton County.

Our Beginnings:
Around 1896 a group of ladies organized 2 literary groups, the Athenian Club and the Progress Club. They, along with the Commercial Club (what would now be similar to the Chamber of Commerce) petitioned the Carnegie Foundation for funds for a local library. The Free Library and Reading Room opened on August 14, 1908 and Miss Sabina Deighton served as the town's 1st librarian until her death in 1933. From the start the library in Great Bend went Beyond the Book. In the original building the main floor was the library, but the second floor was more of a community center, holding dances, meetings, Community Theatre, socials and even school classrooms. Eventually a children's room opened in the basement of the building. The library's current building opened on February 1, 1971 and demolition on the original Carnegie library began on January 25, 1972. On January 23, 1971 local children helped move books from the old children's room to the new building by forming a long line and pass books along. The rest of the collection was moved by conveyor belt and a moving company.

Nestled in the heartland of central Kansas, Heartland Farm is an oasis of peace and fleece 14 miles west of Great Bend, KS.
A ministry of the Dominican Sisters of Peace, the 80-acre, non-profit Farm serves as a working laboratory for simple, meaningful living – a vital resource in today's hectic and uncertain world. The Farm offers retreat spaces, guest housing, and three miles of nature trails, along with sustainably-managed produce and herb gardens, a flock of 80+ laying hens, and a herd of alpacas. In addition, Heartland Farm serves as a welcoming learning center for workshops on cooking, spinning and weaving, composting, and more; for training in permaculture, organic gardening, and sustainability practices; and for volunteers and visitors from our Kansas, the United States, and around the world. Of utmost importance, the Farm allows individuals to retreat from the hustle and bustle of life, to grow in the Spirit, and to feel the healing touch of nature.

HOI is a non-profit Community Housing Development Organization that serves Barton, Pawnee, and Rice Counties with additional housing in Stafford and Scott Counties
We provide affordable, safe, quality housing for low- and moderate-income families in our communities. HOI is proud to be able to not only manage these projects, but to build and own them as well keeping all of the work in house. We primarily serve seniors but also have family housing available in some communities.

KCSL - Healthy Families mission is to protect and promote the well-being of children.
The Healthy Families program is a voluntary home visiting program designed to promote positive parenting, enhance child health and development, and prevent child abuse and neglect.

Our Mission: To maintain a fund to pay for, but not limited to, projects, education, entertainment, equipment, benefits and other charitable programs to be determined by the board of directors for patients and staff at the Larned State Hospital.

The League of Women Voters is a grassroots, volunteer, nonpartisan political organization with 9 local leagues throughout the state.
For over 100 years, the league has encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government and has influenced public policy through education and advocacy. The League never endorses candidates or political parties.

The McCracken Historical Museum is the results of the restoration of the 1901 post rock jail.
Inside the jail is the original jail cell. Each year we have a rotating display during rodeo time. We have an extensive obituary file of former residents and we also have histories of pioneer families who settled in the McCracken area in 1887. We have written 125 year of history of the town and those books are available for purchase at the Museum. We built an addition to the jail to house information about the filming of the movie "paper Mood". It has become one of the more popular parts of our museum complex. We celebrated the 50th anniversary of filming in 2023.

SECRET SANTA
Secret Santa gives seniors who are on Meals on Wheels and recieve discounted meals a small cash gift. This allows them to have an extra $25 to spend as they wish. In the past one women was able to give her grandkids a dollar on their birthday. Another senior spent her money when she had to go to KU Med and buy herself lunch.

Otis Community Library serves the vibrant community of Otis, KS & the surrounding area.
We offer a comfortable place to gather, share ideas, attend events or learn something new. We welcome everyone to come as they are & enjoy the family friendly atmosphere. We offer a wide variety of services from books, games and puzzles, movies, Wi-Fi hot spot, computers, children's craft center, learning devices & play area, free Wi-Fi, programs and we do much more. All money raised goes towards providing new books, crafting supplies, and programs.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life in our community.
We provide free helmets to anyone who requests them including for school perfect attendance and local bike rodeos. We are hosting our 3rd autism workshop and are planning on giving bags of sensory kits to all police, sheriff and EMS units in our county. We do puppet shoes to teach children about safety, bullying, etc.

Volunteers in Action/AmeriCorps Seniors

Our mission is to promote the well being of older Kansans and individuals with disabilities in 28 counties in South West Kansas.
4 are Rush, Stafford, Pawnee, and Barton. We are also the regional planning entity and experts for aging.

We strive to achieve local economic growth by supporting business and industry, fostering employment opportunities, improving housing and cultivation amenities that improve quality of life and encourage population growth.

Jo's Jingle Basket
Joanita Doll-Mason loved Christmas and enjoyed giving gifts. After her passing, her family created Jo's jingle Backet to provide funds to help those in need in the Ellinwood Community at Christmas time.

The Salvation Army, an international movement, its an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church.
Its message is based on the Bible. Its ministry is motivated by the love of God. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in his name without discrimination.

To serve the Senior Citizens of Larned and Pawnee County, Nutritional meals for homebound and senior citizens to come eat and socialize.

Core Community Barton County
Weekly program that offers tools and resources to families and individuals who are experiencing poverty. We cover 11 different resources to help them overcome the barriers holding them back from thriving. We provide a free meal and quality childcare along with two different phases of the program.

Stafford County
We offer Community outreach, resources, and education to help people find solutions to poverty. Poverty is a lack of Resources.

ABCC, Inc. was created to provide quality, reliable, and sustainable childcare solutions to the citizens of Barton County.
With the help of grant funding and pricate donors we have been able to build our first facility. Bright Beginnings, in Great Bend and are quickly moving onto our second facility in Hoisington. With childcare being identified as a top 5 barrier to parents participating in the workforce, our mission helps to fill childcare capacity needs in Barton County in order to support a growing workforce. Donor funds will help to support our build budget to continue these buildings throughout the county and later will help to provide equipment and scholarships to support the center(s) and parents.

We advocate for children in the foster care system in the 20th Judicial District of Kansas.

Barton County 4-H Cottonwood Ext.
Trough 4-H programs, youth have been learning useful life skills since 1902. These include communication, leadership, civic engagement, and teamwork while learning about forty different projects areas such as food and nutrition, woodworking, animal science, geology, and photography. Over 100 youth in Barton County participate in 7 community clubs and a variety of activities and events at the local, regional, and state level. Developing tomorrow's leaders helps our rural communities to thrive, not just survive!

Non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. It was established in 1995 to provide an outlet for patrons, alumni, and businesses to contribute additional resources to USD355.

Santa Fe Trail Center
It is our mission to provide visitors with fun and engaging educational opportunities to learn about the historic commerce route known as the Santa Fe Trail and the effect of Westward Expansion on what is now known as central Kansas.

We have three programs under the GPS Kids Club umbrella.
Our school-age program serves an average of 40 kids daily. Our infant-preschool programs are an in-home daycare setting. The mission of GPS Kids Club is to provide quality supervised care for children, in a safe and nurturing environment, while parents are working. Through our character focused, faith-based program, we provide daily character lessons, academic enrichment, recreational activities, healthy meals, and snacks. We promote self-esteem, self-respect, personal responsibility. Our goal is to develop a sense of community by fostering positive and respectful relationships among peers and adults, embracing diversity, empathy, and tolerance, while building upon both academic and personal strengths of the individual child.

Great Bend Children's Learning Center
We are a preschool/daycare who provides quality care to children - infant to age 5 in a safe, structured, learning environment.

Holy Family school would like to target our Giving Tuesday funds for replacing our air conditioning and heating units in our south hallway.

The Kansas Wetlands Education Center (KWEC) is a one-stop shop for every visit to Cheyenne Bottoms, a wetland of international importance, located about 10 miles NE of Great Bend.
KWEC is a nature center operated by Fort Hays State University in cooperation with Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks. The facility features the Koch Wetlands Exhibit with interactive exhibits, a classroom with live animal exhibits, the Duane Shook Auditorium, and the Wetlands Gift Store. KWEC averages approximately 24,000 total contacts annually and conducts more than 700 environmental education programs. Admission is free! Let us be your hosts as you explore our wonderful wetlands! KWEC is open Monday through Saturday 9a.m. to 5p.m. and Sunday 1-5p.m. The Center is closed on Sundays and Mondays from November 1 through March 31 and on major holidays. GT Dollars: The Kansas Wetlands Education Center offers a variety of fun, interactive spaces for visitors of all types. One new feature that KWEC has been developing is an outdoor children's play area in front of the KWEC building in our pollinator garden. Funds for the play area have been secured; however, there are several additional features that we would like to add to this area, including a bench, planters, garden plantings, a trash receptacle, interpretive signs, and a shade structure. Funds raised from 2024 Giving Tuesday will be used for these enhancements.

It is the mission of Camp Hope to provide a normal, active and safe camp experience where children can celebrate life with, through, and beyond the diagnosis of cancer.
Camp Hope is a traditional summer camp experience for youth who have, or have had, cancer. It has been held yearly since 1983. Unique in its ability to assist campers' needs through a fully functional, on-site medical team, Camp Hope campers are able to enjoy traditional summer camp activities including, but not limited to, swimming, bowling, miniature golf, fishing, hiking, arts & crafts, and more. It is a time for them to be around peers who have, or have had, similar life-altering illnesses and to be in a setting that lets them forget about their diagnosis while they have one of the best weeks of their lives. Camp Hope is held at Camp Aldrich in Barton County, Kansas and historically begins on Father's Day each year.

The Summer Food Buddies program was organized in 2013 to provide food throughout the summer to youth in our community that are food insecure.

4-H youth Organization - we focus on positive youth experiences- teach various life skills and provide leadership opportunities.

The mission is to collect, preserve, research, and exhibit the history of Stafford County, Kansas
We have three buildings on Main Street in Stafford that are full of heirlooms and artifacts and a research library with more then 6,000 books, thousands of files and documents, letters and photographs that pertain to our county and our families. We are open year-round for visitors, scholars, and students from 9am-3:30pm and by special appointment.

We provide high quality child care and teach children about the love of our Savior!
We currently offer preschool and child care services at two locations in Ellinwood, Kansas. We are dedicated to sharing God's love so families may mature as a community of devoted followers of Christ.

Tiger Pride Club
Tiger Pride Booster Club/PTO supports students, staff, athletics, and activities at USD 496/Pawnee Heights. We raise funds to support PK-12 students and staff in a variety of ways throughout each school year.

United Way of Central Kansas is dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities by addressing critical issues
Through Community impact programs and funding of non-profit partners, UNCK strives to create lasting change in the areas of education, financial stability, and health.

The USD 428 Education Foundation is a community-based, volunteer led, organization dedicated to improving the quality of education in our schools by directing its resources toward areas of identified need.
Our legacy is to fund innovative educational ideas and programs outside the scope of the public-school budget. We provide opportunities that enhance student learning and achievement, promote social and emotional development of students, and contribute to a strong school system and community.

Helping children do exercises that develop them to gain, improve, regulate all their senses, which is especially helpful when using more than one sense at the same time while learning and living.
Electronics and more are either muting or only teaching sensory skills, but not developing children to have, integrate and retain them. The sooner more and more children do these exercises, the sooner their learning and other everyday struggles will improve and or be overcome naturally.

Heartland Center for Spirituality
A ministry of the Dominican Sisters of peace, is a retreat and conference Center for people of all faiths seeking spiritual growth. Out staff can accompany individuals on their journey with God through spiritual direction, personal and group retreats, and workshops. Our doors are open to host groups of all faiths for spiritual needs.

The primary activity of Lasing Life Ministries is to minister to people in need.
This involves temporary assistance with groceries, housing, utilities, medical care, clothing, etc. The recipients of Lasting Life Ministries include the elderly, minorities, handicapped, unemployed, impoverished, and transients in our local communities of Great Bend and surrounding areas.

We do all kinds of different ministries each week.
We minister to many people each week that are in prison, jail, homeless, and with all kinds of needs. We feed people daily from our food pantry, we give people free furniture, appliances, beds, bedding, clothing, shoes, etc.! We meet people right where they are in life and let them know that their life matters! We hold eight one hour bible studies each for people to hear and learn the word of God. We have a church service every Sunday. We do a lot of community service work in Great Bend and the surrounding areas.

Macksville Christian Church Food Bank
We provide food and hygiene products to anyone in need in our community. We want to help in anyway we can.

The Center for Counseling and Consultation is a certified community behavioral health clinic serving central Kansas. Our mission is to promote recovery through cultivating help, hope, and healing for individuals and families living with mental health and substance use issues by providing quality care and education with integrity, dedication, and compassion. Our goal is to raise $10,000 to be used to provide scholarship assistance for staff members who wish to further their education in the field of mental and or behavioral health. The need for mental health and substance use services and resources continues to outpace the number of available qualified mental health and substance use providers. Scholarship funds will be designated to assist Center staff who are committed to completing degrees, certifications, and licenses in order to better address the needs of the communities we serve.

Founded in 1972 by lifelong disability advocate Jack Jonas, CPRF enables people with various types of disabilities to achieve their independence goals. CPRF provides individuals with disabilities customized services, supports and technologies, with an emphasis on employment and training options, to facilitate their chosen economic and personal independence.

EMS Dept serving all of Pawnee County.

Clara Barton Medical Center (formerly Lutheran Hospital) has been caring for patients since opening its doors in 1950. The Foundation is focused on investing and raising funds to update medical equipment, aiding in the creation of innovative programs that meet the emerging needs of patients. Through the generosity of our supporters, several advances in medical equipment have been pivotal in allowing us to stay a current, state-of-the-art facility. The mission of the Clara Barton Hospital Foundation is to secure and to expend financial aid to Clara Barton Medical Center and to promote the general health and welfare of the public through the support of education, training, and research programs.

ElderCare Inc. is dedicated to helping persons to maintain an optimum quality of life by offering services which allow them to remain in their homes and community with safety and dignity.
ElderCare administers the Friendship Meals program in a 28-county area of southwest Kansas. Thirty seven participating communities serve meals five days per week. In this area, 35% of the meals served are delivered to homebound individuals and 65% are served to customers at community dining sites. ElderCare helps to provide Home Services to elderly Kansans. ElderCare Home Services are available in Barton, Pawnee, Stafford, Pratt, Edwards, and Ford Counties and work with many payers such as VA. Medicaid, Long Term Care Insurance, South West KS Area on aging, and private pay clients for needed services….

Locust Grove Village: Started in 1978, Locust Grove Village is the only full continuing care retirement community in a multi-county area.
Services include an independent living apartment campus, assisted living, and skilled nursing center. We employee over 60 persons in a variety of job skills making us one of the larger employers in Rush County. The Stafford County Health Care Foundation is dedicated to the continuance of quality health care in the Stafford County Area.
In support of this commitment, the Foundation will strive for the advancement of health care; health promotion; health and medical education; research and welfare services. It is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes including, but not limited to, the sponsorship of specific projects and programs to improve medical services to the patients in the area served by the Stafford County Hospital, and in connection with such activities, to promote the general health and welfare of the public and to encourage, support and promote education, training and research programs.

Stafford County Health Department is committed to improving the health and wellness of our community.
We strive to provide quality services and assist citizens with getting the care that they need. We provide important immunizations, lab services, family planning services, WIC services, car seat checks and installations and provide education to all ages.
